Influenced by the dark sounds of the city, Joey Beams is making waves in the west coast music scene. Fusing his love for golden era rap and underground electronica, Beams has slowly began to create his own brand of ambient hip hop. Born and raised in Vancouver BC, Beams began making music at 17, sampling records on an Akai MPC. Combining his love of music and his passion for writing, a transition into rapping only seemed fitting. Influenced by such acts as Ice-T, Pharcyde, Rage against the Machine and Nine Inch Nails, Beams brings energy and passion into every track he releases. When not working on music, Beams studies English at Langara College and blazes the streets of Vancouver one joint at a time. His sophomore album “DMT DREAMS” is available now.
