Critically acclaimed Western Canadian rapper J. Dohe is the latest force to be reckoned with. Hailing from the small oceanside town of Tsawwassen, B.C., J. first garnered recognition for his music while rocking house parties with friends during their frequent trips into downtown Vancouver. Soon after making a name for himself as an emcee who could command any crowd he stepped in front of, J. rose to local prominence after releasing his first full length album entitled Lounge Chair (2013). During the promotion of the album, J. was involved in several Western Canadian tours with the likes of Layzie Bone, Devin The Dude, and People Under The Stairs just to name a few. Since the release of J. Dohe's Lounge Chair LP, he has rocked dozens of hype shows throughout Canada and the US including a performance at the 2014 NXNE Festival in Toronto O.N.
In (2016) J. Dohe alongside frequent collaborator Neph released their highly anticipated EP Barstool. Crafted with an authentic golden era esthetic and sound, the album is guaranteed to bring you back to the feeling of the mid 90's while keeping up with the lyrical stylings and subjects of today.
Coming to fruition while touring across Canada with Neph's uncle Prevail (Alpha Omega) J. Dohe X Neph have since shared stages from coast to coast rocking crowds to their unique blend of relevant yet golden era inspired hip-hop. With the album's production overseen by Rob The Viking (Swollen Members), Im'peretiv, D-Rec and more, Bar Stool proves to be the perfect jump off for fans of masterfully aged, balanced and full bodied Canadian hip-hop. Be on the lookout as J. is getting ready to release a series of singles and EP's while preparing his next full length project entitled This Time Around.
